I slept in today, but I am still tired

It could be from everything I have done today. I have done a lot. I would like to do a lot more, but my feet are yelling at me. They are tired of standing.

Last time I checked in here, it was the forth. It's almost been two weeks, but I am here sooner. Yay. Not as much to type.  Not as much to go over.  So what have we been up to lately?  Let's see.

On Friday the 5th, I had a good day. I picked up Manny from school and brought him to therapy which he loves. He sees Yamira's therapist. Not for anything major, just someone else that is in his life that can help him along the path.  After therapy, I dropped Manny off and I went to Leominster to meet my friend Bobby-Jo for lunch. We had a nice time catching up. I then did a few local errands before heading home.  I had a terrible pain in my side that was developing. I wasn't sure if it was trapped gas or if it was a pulled muscle.  I spent the rest of the afternoon doing a few things at my desk because I had plans that night.  I left the house around 7:00 pm to pick up a friend and then we headed out to a reflexology appointment. I met two other friends there. I had a great time. It was so relaxing and my feet felt fantastic after.  We then headed to the 99 Restaurant where we all had either an appetizer, dinner or dessert.  It was nice to be out, but my side was hurting worse and worse. By the time I drove home after dropping my friend off, I could barely breathe. I got in the door and tried to wake Bill, but I could barely get him to stir. Finally when he woke up he asked what was wrong. We both figured it was probably a muscle pull, but I have never in my life had a muscle pull like this one. It was horrible. I tried some gas remedies anyway and a heating pad. Neither worked.  I was in so much pain, I actually did a little bit of reading on pulled muscles. I guess you can have spasms. My guess is that I was having them, because the pain kept rolling over me and taking my breath away. That is why I thought it was trapped gas.  I went to bed in pain and barely slept.

On Saturday, I slept in a little. The girls didn't have soccer as it was Columbus Day weekend.  Bill and Joe went out in the afternoon to a beer fest. They had a great time. I stayed home and did a little cleaning and organizing, but I was still in a ton of pain. That night we went out to Applebees with Ayi Meri and Uncle Joe and the kids. Their kids were at their grandmother's house, so it was just our kids. We had a nice time, but I was truly in agony. We tried a restaurant in Mendon, but we had to have reservations. After driving all the way there, we discovered that reservations were needed, so Applebees it was.

On Sunday we stayed home. Bill took the kids in the morning to Sunday School. The rest of the day we stayed home and did things around the house. The kids played and napped and watched TV. I did a little organizing. Just laid low as I felt awful and had a sinus infection on top of it all.

On Monday, Ping had a Brownie event. It was to learn how to letterbox around town. I was one of the drivers.  It was a lot of fun.  I paired up with a mom driving another car. I had Ping, Molly and Lilli. We drove to each clue, stamped the girls books and stamped the books inside the letterbox. We were there for two hours. We then came home and spend the rest of the day at home. The kids all had nice showers and went to bed at a good hour.

The next day was hard as Bill worked from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm. That is a very long day.  Bill was working in Clinton.  He had a nice shift. I was on full time duty with the kids without a break. I dropped them in the morning and then went for a walk with a friend. I picked Manny up at 11:00 am and brought him home for lunch and a nap. We got the girls at 3:15 pm. We stayed home so the girls could do their homework. They watched a little TV and then we read books and they went to bed.

Wednesday, Bill had to work from 7:00 am- 7:00 pm again.  He had a good shift. It was another busy day for me. I had to drop the kids off in the morning and then I took a walk. I got Manny at 11:00 am and the girls at 3:00 pm. It was pouring, so soccer was cancelled. The girls did homework. They played, watched TV and read books before bed.

Thursday was busy for me. Bill was home which was nice. I walked in the morning after dropping off the kids and then ran to a 10:00 am appointment to get some new compression stockings. I used to get 7 per year. Unfortunately, even though we have Blue Cross and Blue Shield still, they no longer pay for them. So I had to actually pay out of pocket for the stockings. I bought two pairs as that is all I could afford.  I then drove to Westminster to meet my friend Mindy, see her new home and have lunch. Her house is beautiful and we had a nice visit. I had to run from there to home though to get Yamira to therapy. Fortunately, I got lost a little, but quickly found my way out of there. I don't usually get lost either. I took Yamira to therapy and then we went home for dinner.  So it was a lot of running around for me.  In and out of the city twice in one day. I tend to do that a lot.

On Friday, I drove to Boston to meet with Dr. Halperin.  We discussed my weight issues. She would like to put me on a new diet drug, but it is not out yet. It will probably be out in the beginning of January 2013.  We discussed going into an intensive therapy group that included shakes, therapy and a few other things, but I can't commit the time or the expense to that.  We discussed WW. It's a great program, just hate all the counting!  Not sure what I am going to do yet, but I am doing some research. She does think that I gain easily.  It's a physiology thing. Wish I had the answers! So frustrating.  I left Boston, did a quick errand to grab some dinner for Bill and I later that night and headed home.  Bill had taken Sasha in the morning to have a hair cut. At 4:00 pm, he covered the football game for the fire department.

Saturday was a very busy day.  Each girl had soccer. Ping was at 9:00 am and Yamira was at 10:30 am. It was cold and so I didn't go. I stayed home with Manny. When Ping was done, Bill brought her home and then the three of us went to the West Boylston Fall Festival.  Ping was manning the Brownie station where they were collecting stuff to make comfort kits for the Red Cross. Ping didn't have to be there till 12:30 pm, but she wanted to hang out there starting at 11:00 am. I took them at that hour so they could see the Chinese Lion Dance. That was a lot of fun and I got some great pictures. Then Manny and I walked around and talked with a bunch of people from town, while Ping hung out with her buddies.  Bill and Yamira came shortly after noon and we walked around a little bit together. Then Ping went home with her friend Lucy and Lucy's dad for a playdate. Yamira, Manny, Bill and I headed home for lunch and naps for the kids. I headed back out about an hour later to do some errands and to go back to the fall fest to pick up Ping. She had a great time. She dropped a chair on her foot while at the playdate and really hurt herself, so she was limping. Poor thing. We headed home for some dinner and rest. It had been a crazy day of running around.  Bill was on call from 6:00-10:00 pm.

Sunday was the open house at the fire department, so Bill went there for 9:00 am to help set up and I took the kids to Sunday School. I picked them back up at 10:30 am and we headed to the station so they could look around. We had a quick bite of pizza at the station and then I ran Ping home to change into her soccer gear while Bill went to the field. I then took the three to the field. It had been raining all day, but it was gorgeous out during the soccer game. The kids played while Shayla played her game and then we went home.  The kids played, had dinner and showers. Bill was on call again. He went on a call just as they were going to take their showers, so Ping helped me.

On Monday, I dropped the kids off at school and then went for a nice long walk. Six miles to be exact. I then drove to Worcester for a 10:00 am appointment with the gentleman who is working on Ping's DVD. I found another person to work on it.  This thing is costing me a fortune. My 11:00 am appointment was cancelled, so I sat and worked with the DVD guy for some time. When I got in the car, I called Bill to tell him I was on my way home. He proceeded to tell me that he didn't hear me ask him to get Manny, so the secretary called at 20 past 11:00 am to see who wanted him. Oops.  Poor kid! He didn't know though.  I headed home and did a few things and then got the girls at 3:00 pm. Bill went to work for 3:00 pm. He was working in the psychology department this day.  I took Ping to Brownies at 6:00 pm and got her at 7:00 pm. I then read a few books and put the kids to bed.

On Tuesday, I woke up and didn't want to face the day. Bill had to work from 3:00pm - 11:00 pm again.  So the entire running around fell on me. I don't mind as that is my job, but there were a few extras to be done that day.  Bill did see our irrigation guy who came to blow out the lines for winter.  Bill left at 2:00 pm or so. I grabbed the girls at 3:00 pm. We did homework and then ran to the library because there was a babysitting event that night.  Babysitters and parents come together to meet each other.  It was okay. The kids did great. Then I had to take them into Worcester for a flu clinic at their pediatricians office. They did awfully there. Ping screamed and the others followed suit. I deserve a trip to Fiji alone for that one. I always get stuck having to take the kids alone to this clinic! No fair. We got home around 8:00 pm and after reading a short book it was nighty night time.

On Wednesday, I dropped the kids off at school and then went for a walk I then went to Westminster to meet with the mother and grandmother on my new CASA case. I was there for an hour and a half.  When I got home, Bill left for work. I grabbed the girls at 3:00 pm and then we did homework and went back out for a 4:30 pm soccer practice for Ping. The kids had a grand time playing at the playground as the weather was beautiful.  We then headed home for dinner.  I was glad that this was the last shift Bill had for the week.

Thursday was full of appointments. I had an 8:15 ENT appointment because I still have a sinus infection from a month ago. I then did a few errands before heading home.  When I got home, I actually napped for 30 minutes because I had a lot of things I wanted to do and needed the energy.  I headed out at 12:30 pm to meet my friend Marghrit for lunch. Then I did an errand and headed home.  We took the three kids plus me to a 4:00 pm hair cut appointment and then home for dinner and then back out for Ping and I. We went to the school for EAR night which is reading and then testing on the book that was read.  Then it was home and bed for Ping. Long day for her.  Long day for Mama!

Today I was going to walk, but it was pouring out. I picked up Manny at 11:00 am and headed to therapy. We then did a few errands before coming home for lunch. I have been home for the rest of the day. I have gotten a lot accomplished. All week long I have been working with pictures. I have been putting pictures into various frames. It has taken hours. Bill and I started to hang a few. However, he is on from 6:00 pm-10:00 pm and there was a call, so we were interrupted.  There was a second call on the heals of the first call, but that was cancelled, so he is now home.  I am going to upload some pictures and then sit and watch a little TV.  I am pretty beat from this week.

Hope you are enjoying this rainy October!

Checking in

I am pretty sure I have said this a million times before, but I will say it again. Why am I still blogging?  Seems like nobody blogs anymore.  Does anyone even read the blog? I keep thinking I am going to have it printed out and put it on a shelf somewhere. Who wants to hear what I do with my kids? I do it so that I can look back and remember if I need to one day. God knows my memory is not superb!  Now I have to think back to what I have been doing since the 17th of September. Not an easy task.

Tuesday the 18th I took a long walk with a good friend of mine.  I have a rail trail near my house that is wonderful. So we walked the entire length which is 6 miles.  I would normally hate that long of a walk, but it goes by quickly because we get to talking about everything under the sun. We have a phrase now "anything said in the woods stays in the woods." We feel free to say whatever we want in regards to friends, husband and kids!  She is a wonderful person and I am so glad she is committed to walking with me.  Bill worked from 7-3 that day so I had to get Manny from school, feed him lunch and get him into bed for his nap. I got the girls at 3:00 pm and then Ping and I went back out at 6:00 pm for EAR. EAR is a reading program they have once a month at Ping's school. The kids can read books and then take a test on the book and they get points!  We were there for almost two hours and then came home and Ping went to bed. She was exhausted.

On Wednesday, I woke up and mustered all my energy to get through the day as it was a long one. I walked 6 miles and then picked up the kids as it was a half day at school. We then met the Brownie troop Ping is in to pick apples and press apples for cider. We were there till 3:00pm. We then went to the library to attend a 4:00 pm program on bullying which was put on by Animal Adventures.  I then headed to Norwood to have dinner with my friend Maura. That was a ton of fun. There were a few of us. We ate and then went back to Maura's house for cake. I stayed way too long and got home super late.  It was worth it though.

On Thursday, I had an 11:00 am meeting with Gerry, my financial guy. So I walked and then got home in time to meet with Gerry. Bill grabbed Manny and then we had our meeting. In the evening, Bill went to Harr to learn more about the Toyota. They were sponsoring a dinner. I took part in a webinar about adoption.

Friday was a better day with less commitments. I walked in the morning and then took Manny to therapy. Spent the rest of the day at home.  I was supposed to have lunch, but had to cancel. I can't even remotely remember why I had to cancel.  I think it was because therapy was running late.

On Saturday, the girls had soccer and then we drove to Curry College for Homecoming weekend. The kids got to ride on a pony and we took a hay ride. It wasn't worth going really, but they enjoyed regardless. At 4:00 pm, we went to the Alumni hall and they had some munchies, so the kids were thrilled. We then came home.

On Sunday, we went to SOWA in Boston. That is a craft fair. The weather was gorgeous and so it was nice to go. We also ran into Ayi Anita and so that was wonderful.  We got home around 5:00 pm. Had dinner and showers and then put the little ones to bed.

On Monday, Bill had to work in Clinton from 7-7. I walked with my friend, got Manny at 11:00 and then met my friends Susan and Jaime from CASA at the 99 Restaurant. It was a quick lunch and I had to bring Manny, but we had a nice time.  That evening Ping had Brownies. I had to drop her off and pick her up since Bill was working all day.

On Tuesday, Bill worked from 7-7 again. I walked, picked up Manny, gave him lunch and put him in for a nap. At 3:00 pm, I got the girls. We stayed home for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

Wednesday was a busy day. I walked with my friend, but for 3 miles vs 6 miles.  Then we took Sasha and Neesha to the vets for their check up.  At 1:00 pm Bill, me and Manny went to meet with Bill's school advisor to discuss his schooling. We then did an errand and grabbed the girls from school and headed home. I had a 4:00 pm appointment that I ran out to alone.  I had to get the gel nail polish off from four weeks ago.  It was a busy day to say the least!

On Thursday I drove to Boston to see Dr. Shikora.  I was 45 minutes late due to terrible traffic.  There was no valet parking and I almost didn't get a spot in the garage. What a mess. Spoke with Dr. Shikora and told him that I was unhappy about my weight gain. He wants me to try one or two diet drugs out there on the market. However, they aren't out there yet I found out! He wants me to meet with his colleague. I already know here. She isn't going to do a thing for me, but will go. I will also be meeting with a nutritionist.  After leaving there, I had a hell of a time getting out of the parking garage as the valet people were parking cars everywhere. I finally got someone to move the cars so I could leave. I rushed home because I had to get Yamira to therapy for 4:00 pm.  We then ran to Big Y and then home for the night.

On Friday, I prepped for Yamira's birthday party.  I went to the church at 2:00 pm to set up the chairs for musical chairs, put the tablecloths on the tables, scooped some ice cream for the sundaes and a few other things. Everyone piled in between 4:00 and 4:30.  Everyone had a good time it seemed. I did not get home till nearly 7:30 as I had to clean up the church and was chatting with a friend.  I was zonked by the time we got home and unloaded the car.  It was a long day!!!!

Saturday brought soccer for the two girls at two different times. I was going to try and attend both, but the ground was soaking wet from the rain and that would have killed Manny and Yamira given that they don't like being cold at all.  So Bill took Ping, brought her home and then he took Yamira!  The two little ones napped and then we all got ready for the Mid-Autumn Mood Festival.   We had a wonderful time seeing people we know. We only won one thing and that is for Ping to have a horse lesson for free and it came with a blanket and a horse pillow pet. Wish we had won more, but it wasn't our year.  I also didn't do a lot of bidding due to our expenses.  We got home late. The kids were exhausted from all of their running around.

On Sunday, we stayed home. I took the kids to Sunday School while Bill collected money in his fire boot for the MDA. I ran to Walmart and then back to pick up the kids.  We stayed at home for the rest of the day as we were all tired. Manny and Yamira needed their naps too!  So I did a few things around the house so that I could get caught up. Needless to say, I didn't get caught up at all.

On Monday, I walked 6 miles with my friend in the morning. I then did a few errands and picked up Manny.  I started to get a nasty sore throat in the afternoon. I took Yamira and Manny to visit their dad for a little over an hour. I kept falling asleep sitting there while they played in the other room.  I just wanted to go home. I then took Ping to Brownies because I had to give out the Fall Product catalogs.  Bill picked her up an hour later.  By that time, I was dead to the world feeling pretty miserable.

On Tuesday, I dropped the kids off at school and walked for an hour with my friend. I then went to my 11:00 am appointment with a Nurse Practitioner to see if I had a sinus infection. Sure enough I do. So off to CVS for my meds I went and then I headed home so that Bill could go to the Larz Anderson Museum before our membership expired. He wasn't gone long. I grabbed the girls from school and headed home.  I spent the rest of the day at home as I was exhausted and really feeling quite miserable.

I skipped walking on Wednesday in order to rest in the morning. I had an 11:00 am appointment at CASA to get my new case. I did go there, but could not stop sneezing. It was embarrassing.  While parking the car, I mistakenly called Donna! It went to voicemail.  Don't ask me how that happened. She texted me back and called me back, but I was in a meeting. She then texted me again. I said that it was a mistake and I apologized. She said it was "no problem." Oh well. These things happen. It was too bad that she didn't seem to have a desire to continue the conversation. That would have been a good opportunity for her to do so.  At 12:30 pm I had a cranial facial appointment at the house with Pam. That went well. I spent the rest of the day at home. Around 3:00 pm, I took a short nap as I really was feeling quite miserable.  I then got up and got some things done. I am still lagging behind very badly. It's very upsetting to me that I can't get everything done. Not sure what my problem is. I seem to have a lot of outstanding stuff that I just can't get resolved.  I was going to go to the library at night to see an author talk, but couldn't go as Bill had mandatory training. That was a bummer, but I felt pretty bad anyway so it was just as well.

Today I had a lunch date, but it had to be cancelled. That was frustrating. I just didn't feel well enough to go though, so I cancelled it. I don't want to get my friend sick either. So we will have to get together another time. I took the opportunity to sleep in this morning. That was good for me. I do feel a tad bit better.  I got a lot done this afternoon, but still have a ton to do. Par for the course is not getting stuff done lately!!!!  We did go through some clothes with the girls though. I detest that job. Bill was on call tonight, so he ran out for a call around 6:00 pm. It is after 9:00 pm and I need to have some dinner. That is about all that is going on for us. I hope I feel better with each day as this cold and sinus infection is a drag!

Hope you are well and are enjoying your fall!
