I know it sounds funny to say that I am awake, but I have been taking a new prescription lately and while it works on the problem I was having, it makes me a ZOMBIE. I seriously could fall asleep at a red light. So I have been instructed just to take it at night. To be honest, I don't think it's going to help because I have been taking in in the evening, but I will give it another try! If it continues to make me feel like I have been drugged, than no matter how much I was happy it was fixing the original issue I was having, I am not going to take it any more. If I was 80 and all I had to do was finish my afghan for the day and watch the soaps, that would be fine, but I am a mom and I am on the road a lot. I can't be asleep at the wheel. Yesterday I took an on and off nap for nearly 5 hours. Today I did it again for 2 hours. So to say that I am awake is a good thing. I am hoping I am shaking the sleepiness! Enough about that!
I am trying to think what we have done since I last wrote. Probably slept, that is the problem!!! Sunday we went to an adoption party. As usual, we came home empty handed. It's not like we would have brought a child home that day but we didn't even walk away with any prospects. Pretty disappointing to say the least. After the party, we went to Donna's house to visit for an hour or so. We then rushed home so that Bill and Ping could go to a movie. First movie ever for Ping. They went to see "How to Train Your Dragon." They had a great time! Ping wanted to know why everything was so BIG. Too cute!
On Monday, the three of us played hooky. Very rare. In fact, we really never do that. Bill was on call all last week at night for the fire department. There were one to two calls every single night. We had a busy weekend on top of that. So I suggested to Bill that he call in. Nobody at Bill's work reads this blog, so I feel like I can share the truth here. Anyway, Ping didn't go to school and I didn't go to swimming. I felt guilty about that, but things had to be done. The three of us went to get Bill a coat for Memorial Day. His dress coat is a hand me down and never fit properly! We had to go over to a special place in Fitchburg. They didn't have his size, so we need to go back. We then went and purchased a ton of flowers for the cemetery. We plant at my Mom and Dad's stone, my grandmother's and my great aunt and uncles. So after we purchased our plants and did another errand, we came home to eat and then went to the cemetery to plant. We finished late. While Ping took a bath, I headed off to a wake for my Mother's cousin.
On Tuesday, I had to go to CASA to get briefed on a new case. After we left there, we headed home. Ping wanted to work on one of her new puzzles. She loves puzzles. I bought her some new puzzles for the age of 6 and up. She does the other ones too fast!!! In the afternoon, I took her to her ice skating class.
Yesterday afternoon we spent at home. Around 4:30 pm I sat down and fell asleep. I proceeded to wake and pass out and wake and pass out. I was sitting in the living room with Ping. She was working on a puzzle and watching a few new videos I got from a Freecycler. They are VHS, but we have a VHS machine, so why not add to the collection. Ping loves videos. She loves cartoons on Boomerang too.
Today we stayed home because I was tired still and Ping wanted to do a new puzzle. She tries to do a new one and be done by the time that Daddy is home. She loves it when Daddy comes home and tells her how proud of her he is. Mind you, I tell her that all day. I can't be bothered with puzzles. Don't ask me why, but I find it an exercise in frustration!!! After you are done, you just need to break it up and put it away, right? I am not into gluing and all that stuff.
Well I must be running. Bill just came in from working on the yard and Miss Ping needs to hit the sheets.
Hope you are surviving this hot week!

I should be in bed, but wanted to catch up here!
I was just going to head to bed and then figured I should stop in here and get caught up. I haven't written since Tuesday. That is probably because there isn't much that is new. I spent Wednesday, Thursday and Friday basically researching various things.
On Wednesday, Meri was kind enough to offer to babysit Ping because we had to go to a wake in Waterbury, CT. Watching three kids is hard and I really appreciate her being willing to watch Ping. We drove to CT without too much hassle. Getting back was much harder. There were three different construction points where we drove less than 5 miles an hour. The hard thing is that Bill has been on call for the fire department all week and he needed to be home by 10:00 pm and we still had to get Ping on the way home. So the ride was frustrating, but we are really glad we were able to make the wake for our dear friends.
Thursday morning came and I didn't think the three of us would get up. Bill had a call in the middle of the night. So between that and driving the night before, he was tired. We were all tired. Ping had gone to bed late and that is never a good thing, but we all managed to get up and out the door. We spent Thursday at home. I did have an appointment in the afternoon, but other than that, we stayed home. My stomach was bothering me as well, so it was good to be able to be home for the day.
On Friday, I dropped Ping off to school and I went off to my water aerobics. I spent the afternoon doing some research on various things that are going on here. We then went to dance class. She has only two left. I could not be more thrilled. I am going to miss a good friend that I have made, but we will see each other outside of dancing this summer. I am not sure I am going to sign Ping up for dancing again. I probably won't. I may try gymnastics for her or soccer or even martial arts! That decision hasn't been made yet. I am still trying to decide what she is going to do over the summer. She wants to take swimming lessons and play soccer. She wants to do a few things and I want her too. Just haven't decided which ones she is going to do because we have to see if she can get into swimming lessons where I want her to go. That is first and foremost on her list.
Today we went to Boston for 1:00 pm. I had an eye doctors appointment. My eyes are doing perfectly. Yay. I had no doubt, but it's nice to get confirmation. After my appointment, we headed out to Walpole to visit with Sarah and Brad. We had a fabulous time. I always love catching up with them. I got birthday presents today and that was loads of fun. I got some beautiful stuff in some beautiful bags with pretty tissue paper and gorgeous bows. I got a Happy Birthday tea cup. I can't wait to put it up. It's beautiful. I also got a set of flatware with a stand that I desperately wanted. It's really pretty. I will have to take a photo of it. Sarah got me a really pretty pink and purple set. I could easily use both. I loved both colors, but ultimately chose the purple. It was so nice getting gifts. I didn't get anything from Bill for my birthday or Mother's Day, so it was nice to have something to open. Hear that honey bunny? It's okay, he asked, but since I didn't know what I wanted, he didn't get me anything. I will make it up to myself though. What is a woman to do?
Well I am off to find my bed. First I need to wake the hubby who is asleep on the couch. I hope he can sleep all night tonight. He has had a call almost every night and some nights he has had 2 calls. That is a killer when you have to work the next day. Sleep tight West Boylston!

It feels like it's at least Thursday
For some reason, both Bill and I are amazed it is only Tuesday. I hate when that happens. I guess it's just been a busy couple of days.
Sunday morning brought bad news about my friend's Dad. He passed away in the middle of the night. He was only 60 years old. I am shocked since this came out of left field. I feel so awful for her and her family.
We had plans on Sunday to go visit Mindy and Joe at their house. They have a new 7 month old puppy. He is adorable. We had a nice lunch and visit. It was great to sit in their screened in porch and just chat. Ping played with Connor and Ciara and had a great time. Once we left, we headed to Target and then home to get a few more things done before the weekend ended. Why do weekends go by so quickly? They are just too darn short!
Yesterday was an okay day. After school, Ping and I went to the dealership to get a mark out of the carpet of my truck. We were supposed to be there one hour. We ended up being there for three hours. So it was a long weight and we were both very restless after two hours! Once we left there, we headed home. I had a few things to catch up on at home. Before I knew it, we were putting Ping to bed.
Today was a decent day. Other than taking Ping to skating tonight, we were home. She wanted to watch one of her favorite movies "The Aristocrats" and I had a few phone calls to make. So we were doing stuff, but nothing like the three hour wait we had to endure yesterday.
Well I am off to get some shut eye. None of us have been sleeping this week. I know it's only Tuesday, but this started back on Saturday or so.

What a day
We had plans to visit our friends in Connecticut. Just as we were about to leave, we got a phone call from the husband telling us that he believes his father in law has had a heart attack. I am not sure of the details yet except that he made it through surgery. The next 24 hours are critical. I feel so awful for our friends. Ping was really disappointed we were not going, so Bill said that I better find something else for us to do. I did know there was a little fund raising carnival today in Northboro, so once I secured the information, we headed there. It was very lame, but Ping didn't care. She didn't notice. She went on a slide and a bouncy house. She also had some cotton candy and played a few games. She was happy, so that is all that matters. We then went to get Bill a hair cut. Now we are home. I am about to empty the ever full dishwasher and Bill is outside trimming the grass and cleaning out my car. I asked him to vacuum it for me. It's hard to keep a car super clean when you are always on the go and there is a small child that travels in the back. So it's nearing 5:00 pm and there are still a few things I would like to do. So I best get moving!!!!!
This past Thursday, Ping had a birthday party to go to at her classmates house. They had two ponies giving rides. She had a blast. Later that night, I got a facial. Donna gave me a Spa Finder gift certificate, so I found a spa in Leominster and headed there for a nice facial. Unfortunately, I asked her to remove a few hairs from my chin. They started when I was on infertility drugs six years ago. Needless to say, the woman not only pulled my hair, but some skin too. Sadly, the facial was great, but stung. When I got in the car, I immediately looked at my chin and sure enough, there was skin missing. It's healing now though.
Yesterday I took Ping to dance, but other than that, it was a peaceful day!
Off to post a few pics. Enjoy your weekend!!!!

Rain, rain, go away
Last week it was gorgeous here. Not it's in the 40s and 50s! What a dramatic drop. Today it's raining outside. Not a hard rain, but a bothersome rain. Last week we had the a/c on. Today it's the heat. In fact, I just bumped up the heat. I have been really cold lately.
The last two days have been nothing but low key. Ping did have ice skating last night. She didn't pay a lot of attention in my opinion. Bill agreed. Other than that, we have been hanging at home and slouching around. Well Ping has been busy building things with her new Legos. I am the one that has been slouching. No idea why, but I have been really low on the energy scale this week.
Today after I picked Ping up from school, we drove into Worcester to get a round piece of glass that I ordered. Ping tipped the end table in the living room and the glass crashed to the floor. So I had a new one made. After picking that up, we went to get ourselves a haircut. Hers looks cute. She was chomping on her hair, so it needed to be cut. I had mine simple trimmed to keep it healthy. We are now home and Ping is back at her Lego masterpiece and I am here getting caught up on the latest and greatest. I do need to make a few business calls, so I am off to do that. I hope your weather is better than ours here. Mind you if you are from Mass, I doubt it.

What a way to start the week!
After dropping Ping off at school, I raced into Worcester for my swimming class only to discover that I forgot my darn gym bag. So I had to turn around and head home. What a disappointment. I hope this is not how the week is going to go! I had a few errands to do, so I did them and came home and showered. We plan on spending the rest of the day at home. I need to go get Ping soon. She is still at school. We bought her a bigger box of Legos than she already had. She is dying to play with them today. She got the gift for Mother's Day!!!!
We had a pretty low key weekend. Friday we didn't do anything with the exception of the dentist in the morning after school and then her dance class in the afternoon. On Saturday, we worked around the house. Bill had a few things to do as did I. Just those little things that you can never get to. It was really cold, windy and rainy, so going outside to do anything wasn't worth it.
Yesterday was Mother's Day. I didn't get anything. Bill said it's because he asked me what I wanted and I never answered him!!!!! I am sure I will get something at some point, even if I end up buying it for myself! I offered to go visit his mother in Foxboro, so after a quick trip to Walmart, we headed off to see her. She was delighted to see us. When we were in Florida a few weeks ago, we bought her a cardinal figurine made out of beads. She thought it was beautiful. So she was thrilled. We then headed home. Ping took a bath and the two of them passed out. I watched some TV and went to bed.
Clearly, it wasn't a fun weekend, but it was good to get some stuff done and to visit Bill's mom. We haven't seen her in ages and she was tickled pink to see us.
Well off to get my favorite girl!

It's been a fairly decent week here
Ping had kindergarten screening on Tuesday after she finished up her school day. I was told she did well. Bill asked what would happen if she failed? Good question! I wasn't worried about it though.
Later in the afternoon, I took Ping to ice skating lessons. She hasn't been in a few weeks because we had other obligations. Meri signed up Lucas, so we met them there. Bill joined us at the rink. He tries to go to every class. Ping loves having her Daddy there. After a quick errand for me and Bill went on a quick errand, we met back at home. Bill cooked dinner for Ping and I cleaned the pantry out. Boring, but a total necessity! I then put a few items up on Freecycle. Those items are gone now.
Yesterday was a quiet day. I had to do two errands, but after picking up Ping from school, we came home. She played with her trucks and some blocks. I sat down to read for a short time and fell asleep. That wasn't my intention. When Daddy came home, Ping grabbed him and dragged him outside to play softball and to take a walk around the neighborhood. She loves to take walks. They came home just in time to see me wave goodbye. I headed out to get a massage. That was delicious. I love getting a massage. Wish I did it more often.
Today Ping has been making crafts and I have been working at my desk. I booked her birthday party. Glad that is behind me. I have also been researching flatware sets, benches for outside and a few other little things. Now I am catching up here. Nothing new is happening, so not much to share.
Hope you are well and enjoying this beautiful weather.

Why am I always amazed that I posted longer ago than I thought I did?
I was just thinking that I should probably update the blog. Not that anything exciting is going on right now, but thought I would check in. I swore I wrote over the weekend and here it is in black and white and maybe a little pink too, that it hasn't been since last Wednesday. Am I supposed to remember what I did from then on? I suppose I can give it a shot!
Ping has missed a few dance lessons. One while we were away and one while they were closed due to competition. I brought Ping to a make up class on Wednesday in the late afternoon. On Thursday, we had no plans. We stayed in and I made a few phone calls. On Friday, after school we stayed home as well. I am trying to get a lot of things squared away. Ping's birthday is coming up, I need to get a few things done around the house and so on and so forth. I took Ping to dance on Friday afternoon. It was nice to see our friends there. We haven't seen them in weeks.
Friday night, Meri and I went to the movies. We have never been to a movie together that I can remember. We saw "The Last Song." Excellent, but sad too. We had a great time.
On Saturday, Bill worked outside in the heat. He was cleaning the garages a little and doing a little yard work. We had a huge tree branch come down, so he needed to cut that up with the chain saw. He started working on that the minute he got back from taking Ping to her last make up class at dance. Might as well get it all done in one week, right?
While Bill worked outside, I worked inside. I organized and ordered nearly 1,300 photos from Shutterfly. Not my favorite job, but a necessary joy that needed to be done. Made a list for Ping's birthday, researched invitations, checked into anniversary gifts and did a few other things. Before I knew it, it was time for Ping to go to bed.
On Sunday, Bill took Ping to Sunday School and they went from the church to the local nursing home on foot. It was a nice walk because it wasn't too hot out per Bill. All the children sang at the nursing home for May Day. I slept in. When they got home, Ping couldn't stop singing at the top of her lungs "Yes, Jesus Loves Me!!!!!" It was cute. Sorta cute. She went outside and picked flowers while Daddy did some work. I got to work on a long overdue project. I cleaned out 6 drawers/cabinets. Not a great job. Really not a good one on a weekend, but it needed to be done and I had the energy to do it. They were the heavy duty drawers too. Two of them were the silverware and additional kitchen tool drawers. It took hours, but they look great now.
In the late afternoon, our dear friend Anita came over to visit. Bill cooked the two of them salmon and rice. I had watermelon. I don't do salmon!!!!! The visit was too short as always, but it was great to see her. Anita brought a cute little princess candy dispenser with Smarties in it. I love Smarties. Ping did not, but she isn't a huge chocolate girl. She prefers sugary candy. Anita brought this home from Mexico for Ping. So sweet of her.
Today was a long day. After swimming, I showered and picked up Ping. We went to the Light Dept., Sally Beauty Supply, the cleaners, two places that make glass and then to the supermarket. We came home, I fed Ping, I unloaded the dishwasher and then we went back out when Daddy got home. Not a lot of breathing room in between. We went with Daddy to Walmart and then to the vets. We had to take Sasha to the vet tonight. Poor thing is having a hard time getting to her rear. She is fine and that is all that counts. I hate dragging her out though. I feel awful. She is the only one that gets taken out of the house so frequently. She is my sweet and expensive girl. So now the day is over and I need to scoot to bed. Morning comes early here. Especially lately. For some reason, Ping is waking at 6:00 am and not her normal 7:30 am.
Hope you enjoyed the weekend.

Mama Out!!!!!!!
