Great weekend

It was a good weekend, but Bill just proceeded to tell me that he has a sore throat. So now I am going to get it for sure. I always do. UGH.

I hate the kids going to school. We have a nice summer with no sickness and then bam, they are back in school and sick. I just hate it and being a mom of three and getting sick doesn't work well.

So let's see. What have we done over the last few days? On Wednesday, we had an appointment for Manny with his therapist. Not sure this woman is doing any good. I don't think she is doing anything different than I am doing. I am discussing the continuance of this with his social worker now. Not his therapist, but his social worker. At 2:00 pm, we had an appointment with the lawyer. Nice guy. He couldn't stay long because he had hurt his neck, but he seemed like he really cared about the children. He came to see how they were doing. He told the social worker that he liked me and felt that the children were in a good home. I hope so. I believe so, but I sometimes wonder if I am the best mom I could be for them. In the afternoon, the girls had gymnastics.

On Thursday I went to the Girl Scout store after swimming. It was pouring out and the last thing I wanted to do, but I had to get Ping her Daisy vest and a few iron on items. Once all the little ones were home, we stayed home. It would not stop raining and frankly, I was sick of being soggy!

Friday I was so thrilled that we had no formal plans. I had a full day planned of things to do at home. However, between the weather and fighting off a cold, I ended up napping for a little. After getting Ping at school, I came home and did a bunch of things. I worked all night too. Just on projects I have at home. Nothing exciting. Can I get a cheap secretary? Okay, just kidding. I do love being busy. Not with the busy boring stuff though!

Yesterday was a crazy busy day. We got up and all headed off to soccer. That was funny. All the kids looked like they had been heavily drinking because they kept tripping over each other. Then Bill fell backwards over the goal net and that was just priceless. A little entertainment for the parents!!!! We then went to the Fall Harvest Fest. The weather was gorgeous. It was so nice to be outside. Ping and Yamira went in the bouncy house. We walked around and ran into a ton of friends from school. It was a nice time. We then headed home for a quick change of clothes and headed down to Taunton for an Autumn Moon Festival. That was wonderful. I won a few things too. I won a very expensive Vermont Teddy Bear as a door prize. I then put in for some raffles and some silent auctions. I ended up winning a small gift certificate to the 99 restaurant. I also won tickets to Edaville Railroad, F1 which is a car racing place for Bill and I, 4 sightseeing river tours on the Charles River, a family membership to a car museum and four tickets on a scenic train ride. I can't wait to use them all. Mind you, not sure where I am going to find the time! We got home really late. We put the kids to bed around 11:00 pm.

Today was a good day as well. The Fire Department had their Open House. We stopped by to let the kids hop in the trucks and to have some pizza. We then stopped by Ayi Meri's to pick up some souvenirs that she brought home from Hilton Head. Ping and Yamira got a pretty bracelet and Manny got a shark tooth necklace. Thanks for thinking of the kids Ayi Meri and Uncle Joe. While at Meri's we ran into a friend and got to chatting. We then headed off to Target. We had to get a bunch of boring stuff. What else is new? Once home, we fed the kids and got them all into bed for 7:30 pm. So they are all laying in bed now. Hopefully sleeping.

I am going to go post a few photos and then make a few phone calls. I have some things I need to do here as well. Hope your weekend was amazing. Love my family of five.

hope he is getting better… sore throat is not a lot of fun its just uncomfortable and difficult to swallow.

usually, i would take the Nim Jiom Cough Syrup (www.geocities.jp/ninjiom_hong_kong/index_e.htm ) which has a thick consistency formulation. it coats the throat and includes herbs that are particularly good for that application.

i hope it works on you as well.
